New Narratives
Thread Work Series
Hand sewn book pages with offset printed color illustrations pulled from the Abrams Students’ Series of Great Artists published between 1959–1963. Made with materials customarily used in commercial book production—text weight paper, offset lithography, cotton mull, and linen bookbinding thread.
A Series of Bookplates
Hand sewn book pages with offset printed color illustrations pulled from the Abrams Students’ Title pages taken from Skira’s The Taste of Our Time artist monograph series published from the 1950s. The original tipped-in images featuring works of the master artists have been replaced with hand-sewn linen thread commonly used for bookbinding.
From the Library of Great Painters — 9 Woven Drawings
Hand-made weavings made from the blank margins within artist monographs from the Abrams series, Library of Great Painters. The weavings become a blank canvas for drawing, painting, punctuating patterns, and collage.
